Windsurfing: The Fludgers-Felixstowe Wind Direction: ssw Wind Stength: 16/22 Surf / Sea State: big and lumpy :( Air Temperature: 7 Sea Temperature: 8 Weather: sunny Max Speed: 22.89 (knots - unless stated otherwise) Distance Covered: 6.47 (Nautical Miles - unless stated otherwise)
Two bad sessions in a in row :( After yesterdays rubbish at the pond I was
going to Levington and have some longboard sailing and enjoy the sunshine
but I got a call this morning from Neil Hurrell to say he was at the
Fludgers with his two boys, so I took my gear to the seafront and was
talked into staying and rigging the big freeride kit even though it looked
a bit light. Once out the wind was marginal but with the tide still coming
in against the wind you could get going but the sea was a horrendous lumpy
mess :( and then I dropped the first gybe and went in and thought my heartr
was going to stop - chilly or what !!! So I had a half doz. runs trying not
to fall in then after each run head back to the shore to warm up !!! There
were 6/7 out which is not bad for Dec. then the tide turned and wind
dropped so you were disappearing along the coast - time to pack up -
perhaps more fun to be had on the longboard up the river ? I thinks thats
it for me on the op[en sea for awhile - if something went wrong a half mile
out you would be in big trouble in the cold water !!! Nice to be out with
mates even if they did talk alot about a trip to El Medano they are going
on in the new year !!! jealous or what :)
